Policies and Procedures

Show customers and clients your commitment to sustainability and embed best practice in your organisation.

Policies and Procedures

Even if you’re not ready to get an EMS or QMS certification, it is still beneficial to have policies and procedures in place. This shows potential customers and clients how you are minimising your sustainability impact. Policies might cover carbon and energy, water use, waste reduction, local employment, diversity, equality, nature or responsible sourcing. It depends on your organisation and your priorities.

Once you have some policies in place it’s important to develop accompanying procedures. This can be through simple checks, audits or more complex systems. By implementing these procedures you can start to identify new improvement opportunities and work towards ISO 14001 or 9001.

Services and Experience

Totem Sustainability can help you develop any policies and procedures you would like to implement, whether they are for certification compliance or simply to demonstrate your commitment to a cause.

We have extensive experience developing policies and procedures for ISO 14001, 9001, FSC and PEFC, and our consultants have IRCA ISO 9001 and 14001 Lead Auditor and ASI FSC Lead Auditor certification, as appropriate. We also have experience implementing policies for strategic planning and other voluntary schemes.
